North Bay Housesit #4

We're back in North Bay, Ontario to house and pet sit Keegan. This is our fourth time caring for this little charmer and we were intrigued to see how he's changed during the past year since we were last here. One year older (or seven, if you're counting dog years), he's matured and discarded some of that boundless non-stop puppy energy. Just like us older folks he has no qualms of taking it easy when the mood strikes.

The real surprise was yesterday when we woke up to a light dusting of snow. Snow! On May 22nd no less. Then, it turned nasty still and became an ice shower. Not fun...but certainly blog worthy. ;-)

Later in the day the sun came out and Keegan and John ventured outside. Keegan supervised while John tinkered with his boat motor. (They didn't leave port.)

Keegan's also quite the watch dog. When these kayakers paddled by he barked a warning for them to stay clear of John's boat!

Saturday morning we headed downtown to the North Bay's waterfront. I never get tired of gazing at this sculpture on the waters of Lake Nipissing. Many of you may recognize it as I've featured it on this blog numerous times, but I feel compelled to include it again. It's a thing of beauty IMHO.

We strolled along the walkway and Keegan said hello to all the dogs and owners he met along then way. Then, we stopped for a photo shoot with the tulips, but Keegan was anxious to keep moving.

Next stop, the Farmer's Market

We stopped to chat with Heather Gray. Her booth displayed her beautiful quilts and crafts for the home.

We met Heather last year when we visited Gray's Log House B&B and have kept in touch since via Facebook. We decided this is a perfect opportunity to get together very soon to talk about our travels (she toured Scotland, Ireland and spent a few weeks this winter in Mexico). But we'll wait until it's warmer. So we can sit outside. Should be fun!

It's been a busy couple of days and we're happy to be back in North Bay. Meanwhile, Keegan's taking it all in stride.
