Springtime in North Bay

Immediately upon our arrival in Canada mid-May we headed straight to North Bay for a return housesit with Keegan.

He's older now since our first sit with him four years ago (and this is our fifth sit with him btw), but the little guy had no trouble remembering the game of Chase Me and throughout our stay insisted we play.  Whenever the weather permitted (it was a wet, wet spring!) we'd go for a stroll along the beautiful Lake Nipissing shoreline.

I never get tired of this spot and love the sculpture that just feels so at home on these shores.

Continuing eastward along the path we came to the beach.

The tulips were not yet in full bloom.

Months have passed since John's last kayak outing (in Florida), so he took full advantage of every opportunity to paddle on Trout Lake.

Keegan, mind you, wasn't as excited about the idea of remaining behind with me.

But as soon as he heard the whoosh of the paddle glide through the water he knew John would soon return.

Housesitting has opened up our world to incredible adventures and wonderful new friends and it is with great sorrow that we dedicate this post to one of the kindest, most generous souls we have ever had the pleasure of calling a friend.

Craig, you are and always will be sorely missed.
