Our Evening Arrival in Malaga, Spain

We flew from London Gatwick to Malaga, Spain on February 24 and arrived at our Airbnb location in the centre of town around 7:00 PM. We knew we were in the right place as the Iglesia del Sagraria Cathedral looms above the Plaza del Obispo.

Because it was a Saturday evening the property management office where we were to pick up the keys was closed. So, we were instructed to ask the bartender at the Taberna del Obispo for the keys instead.

Keys in hand we crossed the square past the outdoor tables...

...and the fountain to the walkway between the two buildings below.

At the first crossroads are more tabernas (restaurants) and our Airbnb flat.

At the taberna we turned right onto Calle Fresca.

The large wooden door entrance is just past the corner restaurant on the left.

As Airbnb flats go this one could not have a better location. It's literally in the hub of things with museums, restaurants and shops all within a short stroll. We had the option of taking the lift or stairs to the first floor.  (These next five photos are from the Airbnb website.)

This enclosed green space with plants is opposite our flat.

The interior is compact, but the twelve foot ceilings make it feel spacious.

We dropped off our bags and headed back to the plaza and the Taberna del Obispo where we enjoyed a tasty seafood paella with an aubergine (eggplant) starter - and wine, of course!

As we returned home we stopped to take more photos and when I asked John to turn around he got a little cheeky.

His cheek - and finger - aside, it was a lovely first evening in Malaga, Spain. Buenas Noches!
