Happy 2022!

It's the end of this year and the beginning of the next.

Suffice to say this past year has been memorable on so many levels and no doubt what lies ahead will be equally remarkable (or downright terrifying if you happen to listen to the media). The good news is that each of us has the power to chose how we react to whatever situation unfolds and if I've learned anything in 2021 it's to focus on what we can control, not dwell on what we can't. Mindset is key.

That said, discussing philosophy was not my intention for this final post of 2021. I merely wanted to sum up our past week . For starters and like so many other weeks this year, it's been an enjoyable, albeit quiet seven days. On Christmas Day John made a delicious Eggs Benedict brunch and to our total amazement we still had plenty of room for a traditional Christmas dinner a few hours later. ;-)

Four short days later we celebrated the anniversary of our first-date (1967) as well as our wedding day (1982) with yet another scrumptious meal - this time topped off with our favourite bottle of bubbly.

And this morning, despite the gloomy, overcast skies we donned our Christmas toques (made by yours truly) to walk along the Ottawa River Pathway.

Being a staunch glass-half-full kind person I'm unashamed to admit I thoroughly enjoyed 2021 and believe the coming new year will provide us all with an abundance of precious moments. Embrace each and every one of them. From our home to yours...with much love...Happy 2022!
