Season's Greetings

Another month has flown by and here it is Christmas Eve already!

In spite of the serge in Omicron transmissions and the resulting (and ever changing) protocol changes,  it's been a hectic month - at least it certainly feels that way! Nonetheless John and I have for the most part managed to retain our daily routine - be it a leisurely morning with the requisite freshly brewed coffee to our daily outdoor walks, an occasional trip to the grocery store and all of our other inside activities. John's French lessons continue while I've been knitting a few more toques. Now John and I have so many toques I may devise an advent calendar for them! 😜

Out of doors John's lucked out this month. There's been enough snow and cold temperatures for him to go snowshoeing and skating. He's especially tickled with a pond not far from us (pictured above) that so far remains his and his alone. While snowshoeing this past week he came across a deer that paid him no heed.

Upon the arrival of the first snowfall this month I insisted the tree be hauled up from the storage locker and decorated. As we tend to leave it up well into February we've dubbed it our "Winter Tree".

As you can see at the base of the tree we've acquired a few live plants as well. They're a lovely treat now that we're no longer travelling for months on end and are able to be responsible plant owners once again. We also received the gorgeous basket of fresh flowers from our friends in Nice and two beautiful handmade ornaments from our daughter.

Our sideboard is overflowing with Christmas cards this year and we're so grateful to be remembered by friends and family alike. Thank you everyone for being YOU. 🙏

Sunset on the shortest day of the year was especially beautiful.

To embrace the season I suggested we pose for a keepsake photo. It took a few sessions along with various locations of the tree (and us!) and while 99.9% of the results were quickly deleted we shared a lot of laughs along the way.  John had a hoot snapping photos of me getting up off the floor. Funny guy.

From our home to your home we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.
