Hello, Goodbye, Hello

It's been a busy three days filled with hellos, goodbyes and more hellos. Thursday John gave Keegan a bath in the laundry tub so he'd be spic and span for when his owners got home. All it requires is warm water, mild shampoo, bath towel and a hair brush and a pup who enjoys being pampered.

Keegan does, and he adds a little playtime into the mix, running around with the towel in his mouth.

He settles down for brush time.

And when it's all said and done posed for a picture.

His owners, D&C, returned home that evening and despite being exhausted after their flight they kindly shared the highlights of their vacation to Portugal, Spain and Morocco with us. Needless to say a many more places have been added to our bucket list. :)

Friday morning we said goodbye to Keegan. It's always a bittersweet experience because we'll miss him - just as we miss all of our grandpets. Fortunately, we'll see him and his gracious owners again. That's why housesitting is so addictive - we get to meet and befriend wonderful people and their amazing pets!

After a delicious breakfast with D&C (thank you very much!) we drove south through the Haliburton cottage region of Ontario to stay with our friends who live east of Peterborough. Although it rained the entire day we saw enough to want to return and explore further.

Today, the sun is out and the avid gardener of the household grafted heritage apple twigs to hardy Russian stock roots for his orchard.

While John cut the grass in the orchard.

Strolling the gardens is a visual delight with...

Bleeding Heart

Oriental Poppy

Valarian

Peony

Lupins

Julie and Brynn did their best to stay cool under the pine trees.

While the guinea hens squawked and strutted about the property.

Tomorrow we say goodbye and hello once again as we head to Warkworth for our next housesit. Good times. Good friends. Great memories for twenty years from now!
