A few blocks from our flat is the Saint Germain district. A mecca for tourists with its shops, galleries and sidewalk cafes and restaurants, it was highly recommended by our Airbnb host so how could we not take a look on day three of our Paris adventure?!

By chance we stumbled upon the Eglise Saint Germain which began as a rural abbey in 558 AD. The interior was stunning.
