Parc Phoenix in Nice

Not far from the Nice Cote d'Azur airport, yet very much within the city proper, is a lush green space known as Parc Phoenix. For whatever reason we'd not bothered to check it out during our last three visits, but decided this year it was time. Guess what? It's now one of my top favourite places in Nice!

The 17-acre park is serene and beautiful with an abundant mixture of creatures and plants.

There are swans, wallabies, crocodiles, parrots, flamingos, koi, parrots, otters and more.

My favourite, however, is the green house dubbed the "Green Diamond" with its vast array of flowers, trees, shrubs and assorted living creatures.

The surrounding acreage includes traditional gardens, banana trees, farm animals, birds, wallabies, etc.

What a lovely day in a natural setting in the city of Nice.
