Four for Four Housesitting in Nice

We checked out of our Paris Airbnb flat at noon on April 9 to take a city bus to Gare de Lyon. Our train departed at 3:07 PM and six hours later we arrived in Nice. This is our fourth visit to this Cote d'Azur destination and we could not be happier - especially as we have four glorious weeks here.

In May, 2018 homeowners Katherine and Paul asked us if we would like to housesit for them again this year and with zero hesitation we said "oui". What's not to love about spending time with Petra and "the girls"?

"The Girls"

Petra likes to vacate his cage at least twice a day and one of his favourite perches is John.

The first few days we reacquainted ourselves with the port and felt completely comfortable doing nothing more than soaking up the ambiance of this incredible view from the balcony.

We also wandered the narrow streets of Vieux Nice...

Strolled the Promenade des Anglais countless times...

And on the spur of the moment another glorious day we stopped for coffee...

Another day we opted for socca and wine...

A visit to Nice is never complete without a walk up to Castle Hill to admire the view and take a selfie or two...

We also walked the rugged coastline trail that is east of the port...

Climbing back up to the road was rather S.T.E.E.P and from where I'm standing below we're not even a third of the way up.

Perhaps that's why when John would go for an evening walk to Mont Boron I preferred to stay behind, but maybe next time I may just tag along as the views and sunsets are stunning.
