Life's little trials and tribulations continue, and yesterday we put out another fire. Figuratively speaking, of course.
Wednesday evening we received word the furnace in my step-father's home was on the fritz. It's up for sale, vacant, and a 9-hour drive from here. What to do?! After a few frantic phone calls we devised a temporary solution until we could contact the furnace repairman in the morning. By noon on Thursday yet another 2014 speedbump had been crossed, but really...enough already!
Closer to 'home', we're enjoying our stay near Havelock. Holly and Maya love going for walks, and yesterday they took John along Bowen Road to check out the cottages along the way.
When they returned, the pups tried to hit me up for a few treats... Even though Maya's licking her chops, I only gave her one. (Wink, wink!)
John, meanwhile, had another idea...
Life is filled with surprises and ups and downs. After Wednesday's low, this morning provided us with a lovely high. We received an invitation from Anastasia to house and pet sit her home just north of Rome. YES! ROME! ITALY! Unfortunately, we're unable to accept for the required dates, but we asked her to keep us in mind for the future.
Life is good!
