I Like My Mornings CRISP

The mercury dropped overnight and wham, just like that, ice appeared on Trout Lake.

One of the good things that accompanied the freezing -12 Celsius temperature is the sunshine. Lots of it. After the past few dull days, it felt wonderful to soak in some warm rays.

After breakfast John headed out to shovel the snow from the balcony, and Keegan tagged along just to make sure he did it correctly.

He's a fairly strict taskmaster...

Still, he has a heart of gold. He gave us two more tickets for the Capital Centre. Last night we attended Haleyfest. Named in honour of Art Haley who was Chairman of the North Bay Santa Fund for more than 40 years, the concert is an opportunity for local choirs to share their enthusiasm for the Christmas season.

Seven elementary school choirs performed and while most began with a traditional holiday song, they included a few new ones we'd never heard like "Grandpa's Gonna Sue the Pants offa Santa" and "Santa Wear Your Shorts"! It was a fun evening, and the final choir capped off the night with "We Need A Little Christmas". Amen! Thanks again, Keegan.
