Rainy Days & Guinness

The good news is we missed the storms that destroyed parts of the US midwest today. Still, it was rainy, foggy, and neither of us wanted to venture far. But this afternoon we took a short drive around town.

The Hampton Inn is all ready for the holiday season.

The hotel overlooks Horne Lake, and even on this dismal, dull day, it's quite picturesque.

Next we drove to the Miner's Monument just a short distance down Hwy. 108 from the hotel. Notice the fog rolling in between the rock cliffs just to the right of the miner?

Spruce Beach has almost been flooded out from all of the rain.

One of us mentioned a day like today in London, England would mean a visit to a museum or art gallery...or a pub. It seemed quite logical that our next stop should be the LCBO! While John grabbed some Guinness, I took a pic of  artist Susan Krupp's mural of the Elliot Lake Founding Fathers. (Franc Joubin, Joseph Hirshhorn and Stephen Roman.)

It started raining a little heavier, and more fog rolled in. Time to head home, and pour a cold one. Enjoying it made us think of our Bucket List, and The Guinness Storehouse and Ireland is on it.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit brighter...if not, maybe we should've got more Guinness.

Cheers!
