Two Days & Two Walks = Two Very Happy Canadians

We've had to pinch ourselves this week. On two consecutive days we've gone for two glorious walks and to put it bluntly we're two very happy Canadians.

It's the middle of October, after all, but one would never know it. Our first walk was along the bike trail that runs along the Ottawa River.

Imagine our surprise when we discovered some raspberries along the way. In a very short time we had picked a handful and felt as if we'd won the lottery.

At the lookout point that marked the halfway point of our walk we sat on this bench to devour our bounty.

I never get tired of the fall colours and stopped numerous times on the way back to the van to capture it again and again and again

The sunset Tuesday evening was equally impressive.

Our second walk on Wednesday may have been in the city proper on our way to the supermarket, but the route we take is still pretty awesome.

We walked back through the National Cemetery of Canada. It's a history lesson and beautiful place to visit all in one. We paid our respects to numerous prime ministers and politicians along the way, including Tommy Douglas, the father of Canadian healthcare.

The crabapples are so plentiful that I had to restrain myself from doing some serious scrumping.

My self-restraint wavered ever so slightly when we passed by this second tree.

The incredible weather continued to linger and John felt compelled to go for a bike ride later the same afternoon. We're most definitely two happy Canadians.

Life. Is. Great.
